Three journalists from The Daily Star have won the Nagad-DRU Best Reporting Award 2025 in two print media categories.
Shariful Islam and Dipan Nandy jointly received the award in the Crime and Law and Order category for their investigative report titled "Mia, wife concealed assets in tax returns".
Helemul Alam won in the City's Problems and Prospects category for his seven-part series on Dhaka's canals, titled "Dhaka drowns every time it rains - here's why."
The awards and prize cheques were handed over by Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, who attended the ceremony as chief guest at the International Mother Language Institute Auditorium today.
Other notable attendees included Kaiser A Chowdhury, chairman of the Management Board of Nagad; Abu Saleh Akon, president of DRU; and Mynul Hasan Sohel, general secretary of DRU.
This year, a total of 27 journalists were recognised across 24 categories in print, online and electronic media for their outstanding reporting.
