Rockstar Games' acclaimed Western 'Red Dead Redemption', along with its celebrated expansion 'Undead Nightmare', will launch on 2 December across Netflix, iOS, Android, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

According to the announcement, players will receive free upgrades and the ability to carry over existing save data. Mobile editions introduce touch-friendly controls, while Netflix subscribers will gain access to the game at no extra cost upon release.

PS5 and Xbox Series owners will see 60fps performance, HDR, enhanced image quality and resolutions of up to 4K. Switch 2 will support DLSS, HDR, mouse controls and 60fps.

Players who already own the PS4, Nintendo Switch or backward-compatible Xbox One versions will be able to upgrade digitally at no charge, with PlayStation and Switch users able to continue progress seamlessly on newer hardware.

The update follows an ESRB rating listing the game for modern consoles, confirming an M (Mature) certification for violence, nudity, strong language, drug use and the presence of zombies, pointing to the inclusion of Undead Nightmare.

Rockstar has yet to formally unveil the enhanced edition, but the refresh arrives as the studio faces a year-long gap ahead of Grand Theft Auto 6, scheduled for 19 November 2026.
