Crude bombs blasted in parts of Dhaka including Airport Railway Station

Several crude bombs were detonated in Airport Railway Station, Mirpur, Hatirjheel and in front of Pallabi Metro Station in Dhaka on Saturday.
In the Airport Railway Station, miscreants blasted a crude bomb around 11:00pm on Platform 1.
Sub-Inspector Masud Parvez of Airport Police Station confirmed the matter to The Daily Star around 1:20am Sunday.
In Mirpur, a crude bomb exploded near the Mirpur BRTA area around 5:30pm on Saturday, said Mizanur Rahaman, assistant commissioner of DMP's Mirpur zone. "CCTV footage has been collected, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators," he added.
About an hour later, another crude bomb went off under the Madhubagh Bridge in the Hatirjheel area, damaging a motorcycle.
Sazzad Hossain, inspector (investigation) of Hatirjheel Police Station, told The Daily Star that police visited the scene. No casualties were reported in either incident.
Around 7:30pm, two crude bombs exploded near the Pallabi Metro Station, said Mafizur Rahaman, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station.
Meanwhile, miscreants set a parked bus on fire Hazaribagh's Beribadh around 11:55pm in front of Shaheed Begum Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Government College, said Rakibul Hasan, duty officer of control room at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.
The attacks came ahead of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 verdict in a case against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina on charges of crimes against humanity.
Earlier, the AL, whose activities are currently banned, had announced a "lockdown" on Thursday, the day the tribunal was scheduled to fix the date for delivering the verdict. On that day, the tribunal set November 17 to announce the verdict.
Over the last five days, at least 30 arson attacks, mostly targeting buses, have been reported centring the AL lockdown. Dozens of crude bomb blasts have also been reported across the country.
On Tuesday, a bus driver was burned to death after miscreants set fire to his vehicle in Mymensingh's Phulbaria.
On Thursday, a youth hired by a local AL leader died after jumping into the Turag river while fleeing a mob that chased him for setting a bus on fire in Dhaka's Mirpur area.
