Two separate crude bomb explosions were reported in the capital's Mirpur BRTA area and under the Madhubagh Bridge in Hatirjheel this evening (15 November).

No injuries or casualties were recorded, police said.

The first incident occurred around 5:30pm in the Mirpur BRTA area, said Mizanur Rahman, assistant commissioner of police (Mirpur division).

"It is not yet confirmed who caused the explosion. We are reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible," he added.

About an hour later, around 6:30pm, another explosion took place under the Madhubagh Bridge in Hatirjheel. Mohammad Raju, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatirjheel Police Station, confirmed that no one was hurt.

Police teams were deployed to the area and have taken necessary security measures, he said.
