The School of Business and Entrepreneurship (SBE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) — an AACSB member and ACBSP-accredited institution — will host the International Conference on Economics, Business and Technology Management (ICEBTM 2025) on 14–15 November at The Westin, Dhaka.

Prior to the main event, a press briefing was held at IUB on Tuesday to share details of the forthcoming international conference.

With the theme 'Sustainability-Focused Industry Trends in Global Research', ICEBTM 2025 will bring together over 300 participants from more than twelve countries, including the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, India, Poland, and the UAE, to foster collaboration among researchers, academics, policymakers, and industry leaders.

The two-day event will feature five keynote speeches, eight industry talks, three invited sessions, twenty-five parallel sessions, and two academia–industry panel discussions.

Professor Dr Md Mamun Habib, General Chair of ICEBTM 2025 and Head of IUB's Department of Management, said the conference aims to serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and research on emerging trends in economics, business, and technology.

Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, Executive Chair of the Power and Participation Research Centre (PPRC) and Chair of Brac, will attend the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guest and deliver a keynote address. Didar A Husain, Chair of IUB's Board of Trustees, will be the Chief Guest at the closing session.

Professor M Tamim, Vice-Chancellor of IUB and Patron of ICEBTM 2025, delivered the concluding remarks at the press conference, while Professor Raisul Awal Mahmood, Acting Dean of SBE and Honorary General Chair of the conference, gave the welcome address.

Prominent industry figures, including Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex Footwear Ltd and Director of Guardian Life Insurance Ltd, and Niaz Rahim, Group Managing Director of Rahimafrooz, attended as key sponsors of the conference.

Keynote speakers include Professor Jonathan Liu (UK), Professor Rajah Rasiah (Malaysia), Professor Dr Maniam Kaliannan (Malaysia), and Dr Ahmad Ahsan, Director of the Policy Research Institute (Bangladesh). Discussions will focus on artificial intelligence, fintech, supply chain disruption, green business, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

The event will also feature a PhD colloquium, academia–industry networking sessions, and engagement with journal editors. All peer-reviewed papers will be published in the conference proceedings (ISBN 978-35-5270-9), and selected papers will be considered for publication in Scopus and WoS-indexed journals, as well as in Taylor & Francis and Springer Nature book chapters.

Through ICEBTM 2025, IUB's School of Business and Entrepreneurship aims to strengthen the bridge between academia and industry, promoting research-led solutions for sustainable global development.
