A fire that broke out at a building on Kalshi Road in Mirpur-11 on Friday night was brought under control nearly after two hours.

Seven fire engines brought the fire under control at 12:05am today, said Rakibul Hasan, duty officer of control room at the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

He said they received information about the blaze at 10:12pm.

The fire originated on the fifth floor of the six-storey building, which houses a community centre named Vibahavari Community Center.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.

There were no reports of casualties till the filing of the report around 12:10am.
