Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) hosted a lively Fresher's Reception on Saturday, welcoming newly admitted students in a festive and vibrant atmosphere. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Engineer Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Vice Chancellor of NUB.

Professor Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of North South University and Chairman of Grameen Bank, attended as the chief guest. Also present were Labiba Abdullah, Member of the NUB Board of Trustees; Commander Md. Mustafa Shahid (Retd.), Registrar; along with Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and officials.

In his address, Professor Dr. Hannan Chowdhury reflected on the evolving nature of education in an age defined by technology. "We live in a complex and challenging era. Computers, mobile phones, AI, and other technologies have become immensely powerful. The question is, how are students using these technologies? Knowledge is now everywhere — students must remain engaged in acquiring it," he said.

Calling students the future leaders of the nation, he added, "To provide effective leadership, you must equip yourselves with the necessary skills and competence. Understand the true essence of life and dedicate yourselves to becoming responsible citizens."

Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Academic Adviser of NUB, congratulated the new students, calling the occasion "the beginning of a meaningful journey toward building a future career." He assured them that the university remains committed to providing all necessary support for their personal and academic growth.

The event concluded with cultural performances by students, celebrating new beginnings and the vibrant spirit of youth at NUB.
