Bollywood actor and comedian Satish Shah, known for his roles in films like "Jaane Bhi do Yaaro" and hit television show "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai," died today at the age of 74, his manager Ramesh Kadatala confirmed.

Shah's friend and filmmaker Ashok Pandit said in an Instagram post that "My friend and great actor Satish Shah passed away in Hinduja Hospital due to kidney failure. His manager confirmed to Indian media that his final rites will take place on Sunday (October 26).

The veteran actor, who is survived by his wife and well-known designer Madhu Shah, has worked in "Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai" (2000), "Kal Ho Naa Ho" (2003), "Fanaa" (2006), and "Om Shanti Om" (2007).

But it was the TV serial "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai" which catapulted him into a household name and introduced him to a new generation of viewers.
