Around 4,000 litres of illegal homemade liquor were intercepted and destroyed by locals in Chattogram's Satkania upazila on Sunday night.
The liquor was packaged in polythene bags of one litre volume and then loaded into sacks in a mini-truck, concealed under straw.
Around 10:00pm, locals intercepted the mini-truck in the Kerani Hat area of the upazila, removed the sacks of liquor and set those on fire, said police.
"Police went to the spot and brought the truck to the station. Those transporting the liquor fled the scene. The truck was coming from Bandarban, but its destination remains unknown. We are investigating the matter," said OC Manzurul Haque of Satkania Police Station.
