The 2025 ICC Women's ODI World Cup final in Navi Mumbai has marked a defining moment for the women's game, with digital viewership figures matching those of some of men's cricket's most-watched events.

According to ESPNcricinfo, the title clash, in which hosts India beat South Africa to claim their maiden World Cup trophy, drew 185 million viewers on JioHotstar, equalling the digital audience of the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup final.

In addition, 92 million people watched the match via Connected TV platforms, a figure level with the Men's T20 final in 2024 and the 2023 Men's ODI World Cup final. Both matches featured India. The overall digital reach of the tournament in India stood at 446 million, surpassing the combined viewership of the previous three Women's ODI World Cups and becoming the largest audience ever recorded for a women's sporting event in the country.

This milestone caps off a tournament that saw rising public interest throughout. Earlier in the group stage, the India-Pakistan encounter on October 5 had set a new benchmark for women's cricket viewership with 28.4 million digital watchers. However, those numbers were overshadowed by the audience drawn for the final.

Inside the stadium too, the occasion reflected the significance of the moment. The DY Patil Stadium was filled to its 39,555 capacity, as India lifted the trophy in front of a jubilant home crowd.
