The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) organised the first-ever "Accounting Day Run 2025" at Hatirjheel, Dhaka, marking International Accounting Day with the inspiring theme "Fitness Meets Accounting."

Festivities began with the Kit Expo on November 5 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon, where participants collected their race kits - featuring exclusive event T-shirts, bags, and exciting goodies sponsored by several renowned corporations.

Initiated by the Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) of ICAB, the event drew over 1,800 participants, including nearly 300 Chartered Accountants (CAs), 600 CA students, 200 corporate executives, 500 general participants, and 200 kids and moms. The main race featured two categories — a 7.5 km competitive run and a 1 km fun run for kids and mothers. The event generated tremendous enthusiasm among the CA community and the broader public, creating a vibrant platform to promote health, unity, and professional excellence.

The 7.5 km run began at 6:30 a.m., followed by the 1 km fun run at 7:40 a.m. Participants were welcomed at the finish line with red-carpet greetings, custom-designed medals, and a refreshing post-run breakfast that included sandwiches, soups, electrolyte drinks, ice cream, and other healthy treats.

Runners from across Bangladesh, as well as from France, Canada, India, Malaysia, and Sierra Leone, added a global dimension to the celebration.

The event was graced by ICAB Past Presidents Muhammed Farhad Hussain FCA and A.F. Nesaruddin FCA, along with Council Members, DRC Chairman Mahmudur Rahman FCA, Event Director Asifur Rahman FCA, Event Convenor Sk Md Tarikul Islam FCA, Event Chairman Maksodur Rahman FCA, and DRC Member Kamruzzaman FCA. Popular educator Ayman Sadiq and Ironman athlete Shamsuzzaman Arafat also joined the event, inspiring participants with their energy and motivational messages.

Participants competed in categories such as CA Elite, CA Amateur, CA Students, and General Participants, with Champion, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up winners in each group receiving prizes and crests.

The Accounting Day Run 2025 is expected to become an annual flagship event, underscoring ICAB's commitment to holistic development—balancing career, community, and health.
