Today is December 16—the Great Victory Day. On this day in 1971, Bangladesh was added to the world map as an independent and sovereign state through a heroic liberation war. After a long nine-month bloody struggle, the people of this country broke the chain of subjugation by achieving a final victory against the Pakistani occupying forces.
