He was immediately rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and admitted to the casualty ward, where his condition is currently stable, said the SI.

However, Bayezid Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jasim Uddin stated that despite receiving reports and visiting the scene, police found no evidence or suspects at the location of the shooting.

The incident follows yesterday's fatal shooting of Sarwar Hossain Babla, who was gunned down during an election campaign for BNP's candidate from Chattogram-8 constituency, Ershad Ullah.

According to police, Sarwar Hossain was accused in at least 15 cases.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasib Aziz said Sarwar was the main target of the shooting that took place during Ershad's campaign.
