Prime Bank disburses agricultural loans among 288 farmers in Lalmonirhat
Prime Bank PLC recently organised an open agri credit disbursement programme at the Hatibandha Upazila Dakbangla Field in Lalmonirhat, where loan cheques were distributed among 288 farmers.
The programme highlighted Prime Bank's agricultural loan initiatives aimed at increasing crop production, improving farm management and strengthening the financial capacity of farmers. As recognition of regular loan utilisation and timely repayment of instalments, five farmers were awarded crests at the event.
To facilitate direct access to credit at the grassroots level, Prime Bank has introduced specialised agricultural loan products, including Abad, Khamar and Nabanna. The bank is also offering low-interest loans on easy terms to encourage the cultivation of import-substitute crops, with the objective of reducing reliance on imports.
The event was attended by Rantu Poddar, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Hatibandha; Nur Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer; and Nazmul H Farajee, Senior Manager of Nourish Poultry and Hathary Ltd.
From Prime Bank, Mamur Ahmed, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Branch Distribution, and Shahana Parvin, Senior Vice President and Head of Agri Business, along with other senior officials of the bank, were present.
