Abdur Rob, the father of July Uprising martyr Miraz, said that only those who has lost a child like he did can understand "how heavy the body of a child is".
He demanded the highest punishment for deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, whom he accused of ordering the killings that took place during the July Uprising.
Rob made the demand this morning when he went in front of the Supreme Court Mazar Gate ahead of the verdict.
"If Sheikh Hasina is given the death penalty, she will die only once. We want her to face death hundreds and thousands of times," he said.
He said Miraz was shot dead by police in Jatrabari on August 5 last year, at a time when students and young people were celebrating their victory. Footage of police firing under the flyover had shocked the entire nation, he added.
Rob further said that even the death penalty would not be enough. He demanded that Sheikh Hasina and her associates be brought back and "shot in the legs and chest, so they understand how painfully their children died".
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 is set to deliver its verdict today in a case against Sheikh Hasina and two of her aides over alleged crimes against humanity during last year's July Uprising.
