Rajshahi Division's left-arm spinner Sunzamul Islam produced a rare batting display, scoring only the second hundred of his first-class career to guide his side to 275 for nine against Dhaka Division on the opening day of the fourth round of the National Cricket League 2025-26 in Rajshahi on Saturday.

Promoted to No. 3, Sunzamul struck a composed 112 off 181 balls, showcasing a rarely-seen batting ability. He found support from Sabbir Rahman, whose brisk 47 off 57 deliveries helped Rajshahi build a competitive total after opting to bat first.

The day's play was cut short due to bad light, but Dhaka's bowlers continued to chip away. Off-spinner Ashraful Islam Siam returned figures of 4-71, while pacer Salahuddin Sakil bagged 3-48 to ensure Rajshahi could not break away.

In Chattogram, half-centuries from Aich Mollah (65) and Shuvagata Hom (54) guided Mymensingh Division to 271 for eight at stumps. For Chattogram, Nayeem Hasan picked up 3-77, while Irfan Hossain claimed two wickets.

Meanwhile in Bogura, Rangpur Division closed the day at 43 for two, trailing Barishal Division by 153 runs after bowling them out for 196. Pacer Robiul Hoque spearheaded Rangpur's effort with a brilliant 5-25, while Mukidul Islam Mugdho added three wickets to dismantle Barishal's innings.

The remaining fourth-round fixture, between Sylhet Division and Khulna Division, will begin on Sunday in Sylhet. The match, originally scheduled to start on Saturday alongside the other three games, was pushed back by the BCB as it coincided with the fifth day of the Bangladesh–Ireland Test, which concluded earlier than expected.
