A man, who was shot during a clash between two rival groups over establishing dominance in Munshiganj's Sadar upazila yesterday, died at a hospital in Dhaka today.

The deceased was Raihan Khan, 22, son of Rustam Khan of Char Dumuria village under Mollakandi union.

Raihan succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around this noon, said Saiful Alam, officer-in-charge of Munshiganj Sadar Police Station.

The OC said, "Police are yet to ascertain the total number of people injured in the clash. Raihan's autopsy will be done at Dhaka Medical College Hospital."

Yesterday morning, a man, Arif Mir, 38, was shot dead, and several people, including Raihan, were critically injured in the same incident. Later, Raihan was taken to DMCH in critical condition.

According to locals, during yesterday's clash, both sides used firearms and threw hundreds of crude bombs, turning the area into a battlefield.

OC Saiful further said that although the law enforcers conducted operations, no weapons were recovered. A case is being filed regarding Arif Mir's death.
