Bangladesh ended the group stage of the Hong Kong International Sixes with a 14-run win over Sri Lanka at Mong Kok on Friday.

Earlier in the day, their match against hosts Hong Kong was abandoned due to rain.

Against Sri Lanka, Akbar Ali's quickfire 32 off nine balls lifted Bangladesh to 75 in six overs before Mosaddek Hossain Saikat starred with the ball, claiming three for 20 to earn the Player of the Match award. Sri Lanka were restricted to 61 in reply.

Bangladesh will face Australia in the quarterfinal on Saturday.
