Michael Jackson has re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 top 10, with Thriller climbing to No 10 after the Halloween surge, marking a new posthumous milestone for the late star. The 1982 hit generated 14 million streams and reached a radio audience of 9.3 million last week, according to Luminate, leaping from No 32 and reaffirming its status as a seasonal staple.

The achievement makes Jackson the first artist in history to score top 10 singles across six different decades — the 1970s, '80s, '90s, 2000s, '10s and now the '20s — surpassing Andy Williams's previous five-decade record. Jackson's last top 10 appearance came in 2018 via a posthumous feature on Drake's Don't Matter to Me.

The renewed interest follows the release of the trailer for 'Michael', Antoine Fuqua's forthcoming biopic due in cinemas on 24 April 2026. The film promises an intimate portrait of the singer's rise to global superstardom.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift maintains her chart dominance. The Fate of Ophelia holds No 1 on the Hot 100 for a fifth consecutive week, supported by 27.4 million streams, 59.2 million in radio impressions and 29,000 sales. Her album The Life of a Showgirl also remains atop the Billboard 200 for a fifth week, boosted by new remixes released in late October and early November.
