Metro Rail passengers can now recharge their travel cards instantly from home using the Nagad mobile financial service, eliminating the need to stand in queues at stations.

The recharge facility is available through the link provided on the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) website. Currently, two types of cards are used in the Metro Rail system, Rapid Pass and MRT Pass, and both can be recharged through Nagad.

To use the service, passengers must first visit the Rapid Pass website or mobile application. Users who are not registered on the platform need to complete the registration process by providing the required information. They must then register their card by entering the relevant card details.

After signing in, users can select their card and choose the desired recharge amount. In the payment options, they need to select mobile banking and choose Nagad. Users must then enter their Nagad number and input the one-time password (OTP) received via SMS to complete the transaction. For future recharges, Nagad users can save their wallet number to avoid re-entering it each time.

Once the online recharge is completed, passengers are required to tap their card at the add value machine (AVM) at any Metro Rail station to load the balance onto the card. A confirmation SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number after the balance is successfully added.

Passengers can recharge a minimum amount of Tk100 and a maximum of Tk5,000 at a time.
