Mastercard Bangladesh has won the "Most Innovative Fintech Product Design of the Year" award for introducing the world's first biometric metal card — an exclusive World Elite card launched in partnership with Eastern Bank PLC (EBL).

The recognition was announced at the 3rd Bangladesh Fintech Award ceremony, held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. The event was organised by Bangladesh Brand Forum as part of the Bangladesh Fintech Forum initiative.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur handed over the award to Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager of Mastercard Bangladesh; M Khorshed Anowar, deputy managing director and head of retail and SME banking of EBL; Jubaer Hossain, lead, merchant and commerce, Mastercard Bangladesh; and Tasnim Hussain, head of cards and executive vice-president of EBL.

The award recognises Mastercard and EBL's joint innovation in offering a cutting-edge payment solution that combines premium design, global security standards, and advanced biometric authentication for an enhanced and secure customer experience.
