Health ministry stresses early dengue testing, proper post-recovery care
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has urged the public to get tested for dengue at the very onset of fever and to seek medical advice promptly, as infections continue to surge nationwide.
The ministry also warned against neglecting post-recovery care and stressed the importance of cleanliness and mosquito-control measures, reports BSS.
According to a handout issued today (6 November), the ministry has requested all public and private electronic media outlets to broadcast the dengue awareness messages regularly and free of cost in the public interest.
The messages call on people to follow treatment instructions from physicians and maintain cleanliness by removing stagnant water in and around homes, under‑construction buildings and educational institutions.
The ministry also emphasised the use of mosquito nets both during the day and night and advised the public not to neglect post‑recovery care, urging them to consult doctors promptly to avoid further complications after recovery from fever.
The number of dengue patients has increased alarmingly in recent weeks, with a sharp rise in hospital admissions in both public and private healthcare facilities.
