Calling Sheikh Hasina an "incompetent leader," Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabir Abdul Kader Siddique today said that she has ruined the dignity and spirit of the Liberation War.
"Sheikh Hasina was not a courageous leader. She did not respect any of Bangabandhu's men. People relieved themselves on Bangabandhu's sculpture because of Hasina. The [dignity of] Liberation War is in a state of ruins due to Hasina," he said after offering prayers at the graves of his parents at his village home in Chatihati, under Kalihati upazila of Tangail this afternoon, accompanied by his elder brother Abdul Latif Siddique, who was recently released from jail.
Kader said, "Why did she have to announce a lockdown? What is a lockdown?"
He also said, "From today, I will tell our people, in all cases and at all times, to say 'Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu'. I will request the government: if someone is arrested for saying 'Joy Bangla', then arrest me first..."
Recalling that he witnessed AL leaders in prison, Kader said, "If Latif Siddique were in the Awami League today, if he were a minister, what would have happened to him?"
"That is why he is not in Awami League," he added.
