Afghanistan under-19s went up 2-1 in the five-match series against their Bangladesh counterparts with a match left to go, following a 47-run win at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on Friday.

After batting first, the visitors posted 258 all out before restricting the hosts to 211 in 50 overs.

Bangladesh pacer Iqbal Hasan Emon struck early to remove Osman Sadat but the innings was shaped by Faisal Khan Shinozada and Uzairullah Niazai, the duo stitching together a 121-run fourth-wicket stand before Uzairullah departed for a 100-ball 72.

Faisal, batting on 47 when the partnership broke, carried the burden of the innings, hitting a 116-ball 112, laced with 10 fours and four sixes. While Emon decimated the Afghan batting lineup, picking up six for 51, it was Faisal's ton that helped the visitors to 258 all out, their last six wickets falling inside 6.1 overs and 27 runs.

Afghan pacer Abdul Aziz caused a riot, picking up four early wickets while Wahidullah Zadran struck twice as Bangladesh U-19s were reduced to 6 for 40 in 7.5 overs. Wicket-keeper Mohammad Abdullah and number eight Debashish Sarkar put up a rearguard resistance with an 108-run stand. Debashish struck a 61-ball 51 while Abdullah missed out on a ton, falling for 95 off 160 deliveries in the final over as Bangladesh reached 211 for 9.

The series-deciding fifth and final one-dayer will be played on November 9 . The young Tigers started the series with a win while the second one-dayer in Bogura was abandoned due to wet outfield.
