Special Olympics Bangladesh (SOBD) achieved a remarkable double triumph at the Special Olympics Southeast Asia Football Competition 2025, winning both the male and female Division 1 Championships in Indonesia from November 10–14.

The regional event featured teams from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, said a press release from SOBD.

Following two months of intense preparation, the Bangladesh Male Division 1 team claimed a confident 3-1 victory over Indonesia in the final, while the Female Division 1 team secured a thrilling 5-3 win against Thailand, sealing Bangladesh's historic clean sweep of the top titles.

Kamran Sunjoy Rahman, treasurer of SOBD and head of delegation for the men's team, along with Dr. Ajanta Rani Saha, director of SOBD and head of delegation for the women's team, thanked the coaches and organisers and praised the athletes as true champions. Bangladesh's Ambassador to Indonesia, Tarikul Islam, congratulated the teams during the closing ceremony. SOBD chairman Moshiur Rahman and national director Faruqul Islam also extended their appreciation and thanked Special Olympics Indonesia and the Asia Pacific Regional Office for hosting a successful event.
