Singer Doly Shaontoni is set to join the growing trend of revisiting old songs with fresh musical arrangements. In recent years, reimagined classics have dominated the music scene, with films also frequently reviving popular tracks — sometimes even blending them with new compositions. Dolly, too, is now preparing to re-release several of her most famous songs in updated form.

The artiste had received offers from production houses long ago to remake her old hits, but she declined at the time. However, the success of her classic song "Lichur Bagane", used in Shakib Khan's Eid-ul-Azha release "Tandob", has shifted her perspective. She has now decided to breathe new life into her beloved tracks.

"Several companies approached me before," Dolly said. "Initially, I wondered whether new arrangements could ever match the place the original versions hold in listeners' hearts. But I see many others getting great responses. 'Lichur Bagane' was recorded two decades ago. The producers asked me to sing it again, but I refused. Then Pritom sang it, and it created a sensation nationwide."

Doly Shaontoni has been in Canada for nearly a year. There, next week, she will record a newly arranged version of her popular track "Hey Jubok". More songs will follow in the coming months.

"Last Friday (November 14), a producer from Bangladesh called," she said. "'Hey Jubok' has been rearranged and he wants me to record it again. This time I didn't say no. I've decided to join the trend. I'll record the track next week. After that, I plan to gradually re-record the other songs that received immense love over the years."
