Community Bank earns global standard certification for ISMS compliance
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has recently achieved the ISO 27001:2022 certification, the latest version of the globally recognised standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
The recertification audit was conducted by Intertek Bangladesh, accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), reaffirming the bank's continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards of information security.
A certificate handover ceremony was held on Thursday (6 November 2025) at the bank's head office, where MM Murshed, Senior Manager (Compliance) of Intertek Bangladesh, formally handed over the certificate to Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank.
This achievement underscores the bank's dedication to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information across all digital and IT platforms, while highlighting its proactive approach to tackling emerging cybersecurity threats, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements.
Kimiwa Saddat said, "Securing the ISO 27001:2022 certification reflects our strong commitment to safeguarding customer information and demonstrates our capability in delivering modern, secure banking services. This milestone will inspire us to pursue further innovation and continuous improvement."
The event was also attended by Md Tanjim Morshed Bhuiyan, CITO, Head of DFS & Deputy Head of RMD; Dr Md Ariful Islam, Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Business (Branch); Md Mamun Ur Rahman, Head of ADC & Head of MD's Coordination Team; Nurul Islam Chowdhury, Head of IT, Intertek South Asia; Farhad Ahmed, Senior Manager (System Certification), Intertek; and Smitha Tumpa Baroi, Assistant Manager (Business Assurance), Intertek Bangladesh, along with other senior officials from both organisations.
