Business revival essential to make Ctg a true commercial hub: Mayor Shahadat
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain has emphasised the need to revive the city's entrepreneurial spirit to transform it into a true commercial hub, saying that despite its reputation as the country's business capital.
"Chattogram is called a commercial hub, but has not truly become one. Reviving business dynamism, especially through women's participation, is essential," the mayor said while inaugurating the three-day 'Wedding and Lifestyle Expo 2025' at the Radisson Blu Bay View Ctg's Mejban Hall on Thursday (6 November) evening.
Shahadat also said, "Whenever Ctg's business community organises a fair or event, I make an effort to attend to assure them that I stand beside them."
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by event organiser Manzuma Murshed and attended by Sayed Selim, president of Panchlaish Housing Society, and Mezbah Uddin, representative of BYD Bangladesh.
Organised by M&M Business Communication, the expo will remain open to visitors from 11am to 11pm daily, featuring a wide range of wedding and lifestyle products, including jewellery, décor, beauty.

Manzuma said the expo connects premium brands with consumers before the winter wedding season, drawing strong crowds of young couples and families.
