The long-running legal feud between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has intensified, with Pitt filing new court documents against his ex-wife over the sale of their French estate and winery, Château Miraval.
According to People, Pitt's legal team recently submitted new evidence in court, including email exchanges between Jolie's lawyers and his team related to her 2021 sale of her stake in the winery — a move Pitt claims violated their prior agreement.
One exhibit includes a November 2023 email from Jolie's attorneys responding to Pitt's $35 million damages claim. "The burdensome nature of any production is a matter of Mr Pitt's own creation — he is suing Ms Jolie for $35 million in damages. As a result, he has to incur the expense of producing the documents that will show (or not show) those damages," her lawyers wrote, as cited by People.
Jolie's team also alleged that Pitt was seeking "ongoing damages for alleged harm to Miraval's operations," while refusing to release certain documents related to a four-year non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that reportedly covered his personal conduct.
Pitt initially filed the lawsuit in 2022, accusing Jolie of selling her share of Château Miraval to a third party without his consent, despite an earlier understanding that neither could sell their stake without the other's approval. Jolie, in turn, has claimed attorney-client privilege over several contested documents, a move Pitt's lawyers argue is improper. The actor has now renewed his request for 22 specific documents he says are being withheld.
The next court hearing in the case is scheduled for December 17.
Pitt and Jolie, who share six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox — ended their 12-year relationship in 2016 after two years of marriage. Their divorce was finalised in December 2024, though their legal disputes over business and custody matters continue to unfold.
