The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Saturday stated that it had found no irregularities in the selection process of the Under-19 women's cricket team following a review, while also noting that its five-member Inquiry Committee is currently examining additional matters, including issues raised by former national captain Jahanara Alam.

"The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wishes to address recent complaints forwarded by NSC vide letter dated September 17, 2025 relating to the selection process of the Under-19 Women's Cricket Team and other issues raised in connection with women's cricket.

In a statement, the board said the National Sports Council's (NSC) letter from September 17 arrived at a time when the BCB was occupied with election-related activities, limiting departments to essential day-to-day operations. Once the General Council formation and Board of Directors' election were completed, the relevant committees reviewed all available records.

"Based on this review, the BCB can confirm that no irregularities were found in the selection process of the Under-19 Women's Cricket Team," the BCB said.

"In this context, additional matters referenced in the letter dated 8 September 2025 submitted by Ria Akhter Shikha to the Executive Director of the National Sports Council (NSC), are in the process of being placed before the five-member Inquiry Committee constituted to examine the issues raised by former Bangladesh Women's Team Captain Jahanara Alam in a recent social-media interview," the BCB added, also stating that the board will take all necessary and appropriate actions once the Inquiry Committee submits its report.

On November 8, the BCB formed a three-member inquiry committee comprising Justice (retd) Tariq ul Hakim, Barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla, and Rubaba Dowla to investigate recent allegations of misconduct involving members of the national women's team.

Later, on November 12, Barrister Muhammed Mustafizur Rahman Khan and Professor Dr Naima Huq were added to the committee, expanding its mandate to investigate allegations of misconduct in women's cricket.

"The BCB reiterates its commitment to transparency, fairness and accountability. The Board will take all necessary and appropriate actions once the Inquiry Committee submits its findings and recommendations," it added.
