Twelve platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are patrolling in Dhaka city to strengthen security measures and maintain law and order.
The government deployed the paramilitary personnel in Dhaka to maintain law and order amid incidents of arson attacks by miscreants.
Speaking to BSS, Shariful Islam, public relations officer at the BGB headquarters, said that 12 BGB platoons have been stationed in Dhaka.
He said that a paramilitary force has been patrolling key streets of Dhaka city, including the area near InterContinental Dhaka, Mymensingh Road, Mirpur Road, Rokeya Sarani, airport, Abdullahpur, Kakrail, Shishu Academy, the High Court area, and other major roads.
Earlier, the government deployed 14 platoons of BGB in Dhaka and its adjoining districts to maintain the law-and-order situation.
