World’s leading countries by fleet carrying capacity
According to the 2025 Review of Maritime Transport report, Greece, China and Japan together account for over 40% of the world's fleet by dead-weight tonnage and nearly one third of all vessels. Meanwhile, Bangladesh owns a total of 291 vessels with a carrying capacity of 5.8 million dead-weight tonnes.
