Veteran actress Kabori Sarwar began shooting her directorial project "Ei Tumi Shei Tumi", with only two days of filming left when she passed away in 2021.

In late 2023, her son Shaker Chishty completed the unfinished film, which is now gearing up for release. However, its premiere will take place at an international film festival before it hits theatres in Bangladesh, Chishty confirmed.

He told Samakal, "Finishing my mother's incomplete work was a huge challenge for me. I've now completed it and also handled the dubbing and editing."

"After my mother's passing, I needed some time to overcome various complications and finish the film. We have submitted it to several international festivals abroad. Once it is screened there, we will release it in Bangladesh. However, I cannot yet specify the release date as it depends entirely on the film's international screening schedule," he added.

Written by Kabori herself, "Ei Tumi Shei Tumi" spans two distinct timelines—one set in the present and the other during the Liberation War. The film stars Nishat Nawar Salwa and Raihan Riyad in lead roles.

Apart from directing and acting, Kabori also penned a song for the film, performed by singers Imran and Konal, with music direction by the legendary Sabina Yasmin.
