A three-day programme titled "Rokte Ranga Bijoy Amar 2025" was held at the TSC premises of the University of Dhaka during the Victory Month of December.

The programme was organised jointly by all TSC-based social and cultural organisations and took place from 14 to 16 December.

On the first day, 14 December, a mourning rally was organised at 10am in memory of the martyred intellectuals, with participation from leaders and members of TSC-based social and cultural organisations. The rally began at the TSC premises and ended at Smritir Chirantan near the Vice Chancellor's area, where floral tributes were paid to the martyrs of the Liberation War and a one-minute silence was observed.

Later in the evening, a candle-lighting programme was held in front of TSC in remembrance of the martyred intellectuals, paying tribute once again to the martyrs of the Liberation War.

The second day featured a symbolic national flag stitching programme incorporating the map of independent Bangladesh. Members of various organisations stitched the map onto the red circle of the national flag, which was later hoisted and preserved at the TSC entrance.

On 15 December at 3pm, the main cultural segment of "Rokte Ranga Bijoy Amar 2025" began at the TSC Payra Chattar. The programme opened with a welcome address by TSC Director Farzana Basar, who said the joint initiatives of TSC-based organisations during Victory Month deserve appreciation. She said the Liberation War remains a source of strength and emotion, and such programmes reflect the younger generation's commitment to remembering the sacrifices of the martyrs.

The cultural segment included diverse performances such as an open quiz by the Dhaka University Quiz Society, a street play titled Khyapa Paglar Pyachal by Dhaka University Natya Sangsad, a mixed production titled Rokte Diye Naam Likhechi Bangladesh-er Naam by Dhaka University Cultural Society, a puppet show by Dhaka University Environment Society, a planchette debate organised by Dhaka University Debating Society, and a special mime performance titled Rong, Rokto O Chitkar by Dhaka University Mime Action. Poetry recitation, dance and solo and group songs were also performed.

The cultural segment concluded with the Victory Concert, coordinated by the Dhaka University Band Society. Bands including Ila Lalala, Durg, Torture Goregrinder, Introit, Apon Ghor, DUBS Team, Red Wine, Unnamed, Krishnopokkho, Anesthesia and Ants on the Run performed at the concert.

At the first moment of Victory Day on 16 December, the programme concluded with a collective rendition of the national anthem at the TSC Payra Chattar stage, led by representatives of the social and cultural organisations.

Speaking about the programme, organiser Shahriar Nazim Simanto, general secretary of Dhaka University Research Society, said the initiative aimed to spread the spirit of the Liberation War, the sacrifices of the martyrs and the meaning of victory among the younger generation, while encouraging people to stand for justice in all spheres of life.

Another organiser, Raihan Ahmed, general secretary of Dhaka University Literature Society, said organising such a large joint programme involved many challenges, but the organisers remained determined to celebrate the historic victory achieved through immense sacrifice in 1971.

Rawnak Jahan Rakamoni, general secretary of Dhaka University Cultural Society, said Victory Day reminds citizens of the immense value of independence achieved through the blood of countless martyrs and stressed the moral and national responsibility to protect that freedom.

The organisers noted that "Rokte Ranga Bijoy Amar" is an annual joint initiative of TSC-based social and cultural organisations, held every year from 14 to 16 December at the TSC premises.
