Trust Bank, BFIU Unite to Bolster Anti–Money Laundering Efforts
A regional workshop titled "Proactive Transaction Monitoring – Finding Key Indicators for Detecting Money Laundering" was held on 12 November, 2025 at City Hotel, Cox's Bazar.
The event was organised by the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) and hosted by Trust Bank PLC.
A K M Golam Mahmud, director of BFIU, attended as the chief guest, while A B M Moinul Hasib, head of the Anti-Money Laundering Division of Trust Bank PLC, was present as the special guest. Ruman Ahmed, additional director of BFIU, led the workshop as team leader.
Officials from various banks in the Cox's Bazar region took part in the programme, which featured interactive discussions and expert-led sessions on improving automated monitoring, developing early alert mechanisms and identifying effective risk indicators to combat money laundering.
The workshop encouraged collaboration among financial institutions and highlighted the importance of proactive transaction monitoring to uphold transparency and safeguard Bangladesh's financial integrity.
