Three of the four National Cricket League (NCL) third-round matches appear headed for results on Tuesday as the four-day fixtures move into the final day.

In Chattogram, Khulna division are in strong position to clinch their second win of the campaign after reaching 52 for no loss while chasing 237 against hosts Chattogram division.

Khulna, who resumed the morning on 249-8, added 32 runs before being dismissed for 281 in their first innings. Their bowlers then tightened the grip, skittling Chattogram for 166 in the second innings. Mehedi Hasan Rana and Mahedi Hasan claimed three wickets each, while Nayeem Hasan top-scored for Chattogram with 61.

In Khulna, Rajshahi division will need another 241 runs to clinch their second straight victory. They closed the third day on five without loss in pursuit of a 246-run target against Barishal division.

Barishal, resuming at 22-1, posted 268 in their second innings, thanks to Fazle Mahmud's 69. Ali Mohammad Walid took three wickets for Rajshahi.

At Cox's Bazar International Stadium, Sylhet division finished the day on 173-5 in their second innings, extending their lead over Rangpur division to 127. Opener Mubin Ahmed anchored the innings with an unbeaten 76 off 145 balls. Earlier, Rangpur reached 245 in their first innings after resuming at 187-8, with Robiul Hoque contributing 70. Sylhet pacer Abu Jayed picked up four wickets and Nabil Samad took three.

Meanwhile, at the other Cox's Bazar venue, Dhaka division reached 225-4 in the first innings against Mymensingh division with unbeaten half-centuries from Joyraj Sheikh (77) and Marshall Ayub (58 not out).
