Southeast Bank PLC organised its Annual Risk Conference 2025 in a hybrid format on Saturday, 13 December 2025, at the Southeast Bank Training Institute in Dhaka.

The conference was chaired by Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC. A. N. M. Moinul Kabir, Director of the Department of Off-site Supervision (DOS), Bangladesh Bank, attended the programme as the chief guest.

Mst Nazmin Nahar, Joint Director of the Department of Off-site Supervision, Bangladesh Bank, joined the conference as a guest speaker. Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director, and Md Mahbub Alam, Additional Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer of Southeast Bank PLC, were also present.

The conference was attended by Md Masum Uddin Khan, Mohammed Rashedul Amin, and Md Sekander-e-Azam, Deputy Managing Directors of the bank, along with all divisional heads, heads of branches, manager operations, and in-charges of offshore banking units and uposhakhas.

The sessions focused on strengthening risk management amid the growing complexity of the financial landscape, while aligning banking practices with global standards such as risk-based supervision (RBS), expected credit loss (ECL) and IFRS 9. Discussions highlighted the importance of fostering a strong risk culture across the organisation.

Key topics included emerging banking risks, rising non-performing loans (NPLs), digital transformation, regulatory compliance, and proactive operational risk management.

The Annual Risk Conference 2025 reaffirmed Southeast Bank PLC's commitment to robust risk governance, regulatory compliance and global best practices, while promoting a skilled and risk-aware workforce to support sustainable organisational growth.
