A group of people, under the banner of "July Oikya", has started a march towards the Indian High Commission in Dhaka's Gulshan this afternoon with several demands, including the return of deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina who fled there during the July uprising last year.

Several hundred people gathered at the Rampura Bridge area before starting the march at around 3:15pm, our correspondent reports from the spot.

The demonstrators chanted slogans, including "Delhi na, Dhaka; Dhaka, Dhaka," as they proceeded.

Law enforcers were deployed in the area to maintain order.
