Agricultural Marketing Company Ltd. (AMCL-PRAN) and Rangpur Foundry Ltd. (RFL), two listed companies of PRAN-RFL Group, have received the ICSB National Award 2024 in recognition of their outstanding corporate governance practices, including transparency and accountability in overall management.

The 12th ICSB National Award 2024 was presented at a ceremony held on Monday evening at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. This year, AMCL-PRAN received the award in the food and allied sector, while Rangpur Foundry Ltd. was honoured in the engineering sector.

On behalf of the companies, Choudhury Atiur Rasul, Director (Accounts) of PRAN-RFL Group, received the crest and certificate from Lutfey Siddiqi, Special Envoy on International Affairs to the Chief Adviser, who attended the event as the guest of honour. Muhammad Shariful Islam, Company Secretary of AMCL-PRAN, was also present at the ceremony.

Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin attended the event as the chief guest, while Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H. Mansur joined virtually as a special guest. Presided over by ICSB President Hossain Sadat, the programme was also attended by Md Habibur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank; Md Saifuddin, Commissioner of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC); and Dr Md Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Choudhury Atiur Rasul said, "The private sector has always played a vital role in driving the country's economy forward. PRAN-RFL Group remains committed to strengthening discipline, transparency and accountability in its corporate management to contribute to national economic development. Such recognition will further inspire us to perform better in the future."

This year, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) recognised 43 companies across 14 categories for excellence in corporate governance, transparency and accountability.
