A 20-year-old youth was killed in a crude bomb explosion during a clash between two groups at Mohammadpur Geneva Camp in Dhaka early today.
The deceased, Zahid, was a resident of Geneva Camp who used to work at a mobile servicing shop in Kalyanpur area, said his brother-in-law Md Ujjal.
The explosion occurred around 3:30am during a clash between two groups in the camp area, police said.
Critically injured in the blast, Zahid was first taken to Trauma Centre and later to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead around 4:30am.
Inspector Md Farouk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed the death and said the body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
