NRBC Bank organises entrepreneur development training
NRBC Bank PLC has organised an entrepreneurship development training to promote the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Bangladesh. The day-long programme was held in Feni on Thursday under the supervision of Bangladesh Bank and with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The training was conducted as part of the month-long Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) — an initiative of the Ministry of Finance aimed at strengthening the country's industrial capacity and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan, Managing Director and CEO of NRBC Bank, addressed participants on key topics including banking facilities for entrepreneurs, investment opportunities, business operations, and effective management practices.
Also present at the event were Muhammad Ariful Islam, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Bank; Sk Ahsanul Haque, Head of Credit Risk Management Division–2, NRBC Bank; and Kazi Mohammad Ziaul Karim, Head of Cumilla Zone, along with other senior officials.
Speaking at the session, Dr Touhidul Alam Khan said, "The government and Bangladesh Bank have undertaken entrepreneur development programmes to accelerate economic growth through job creation. As part of this initiative, NRBC Bank is implementing various programmes to nurture entrepreneurs, particularly in rural areas. Through its extensive network of branches and sub-branches nationwide, the bank is providing low-interest and easily accessible financing to micro and small enterprises."
The initiative reflects NRBC Bank's continued commitment to empowering entrepreneurs, supporting rural economies, and driving inclusive industrial growth across Bangladesh.
