S. M. Mainul Kabir has joined SBAC Bank PLC as Managing Director and CEO on Wednesday, 17 December 2025.

Prior to joining SBAC Bank, Mr Kabir served as Deputy Managing Director of United Commercial Bank PLC.

He brings over 30 years of experience in the banking sector, having held a number of senior leadership roles throughout his career, including Head of Credit, Chief Business Officer, Head of Credit Administration, and Head of Branch. His professional journey began as a Probationary Officer at National Bank PLC.

Over the years, Mr Kabir has served with EXIM Bank PLC, Jamuna Bank PLC, Southeast Bank PLC, and Community Bank PLC, earning a reputation for professionalism, integrity and effective leadership across multiple areas of banking operations.

Mr Kabir has participated in numerous professional and management development programmes, workshops and seminars at home and abroad. He completed his honours and master's degrees in Finance and Banking from the University of Dhaka, and later earned an MBA from the Department of Management Studies, University of Dhaka, further strengthening his academic and professional foundation.
