The International Crimes Tribunal has ordered the seizure of all assets belonging to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal following their conviction in the July Uprising case.

Their declared wealth, according to affidavits submitted before the 12th National Parliament Election, provides an outline of the property now subject to confiscation.

According to her affidavit for the Gopalganj-3 constituency, Sheikh Hasina declared movable and immovable assets worth approximately Tk4.36 crore.

She reported Tk28,500 in cash and around Tk2.39 crore deposited in banks and financial institutions. She also reported savings certificates worth Tk25 lakh and fixed deposits totalling Tk55 lakh.

Her affidavit listed three motor vehicles, two valued at Tk47.5 lakh, while the price of the third—recorded as a gift—was not stated.

She declared Tk13.25 lakh in gold and other valuables, and furniture valued at Tk7.4 lakh.

Hasina reported 15.3 bigha of agricultural land in Tungipara, Gopalganj Sadar, Gazipur and Rangpur, with the purchased portion valued at Tk6.78 lakh. She also declared a Purbachal plot valued at Tk34.76 lakh.

Earlier, 10-katha plots were allocated in Purbachal to her and five family members, totalling 60 katha.

An ACC investigation is ongoing into allegations of irregularities and abuse of power in that allocation.

Her affidavit further stated that she owned a three-storey building and 6.10 decimals of land in Tungipara, valued at Tk5 lakh at acquisition.

The ACC later said she declared only 6.50 acres in the 2008 election affidavit, while its inquiry found over 28 acres of immovable property in her name at that time.

Assets of Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal

Kamal's affidavit for the Dhaka-12 constituency listed Tk84 lakh in cash and about Tk82 lakh deposited in banks and financial institutions.

He declared bonds and shares worth around Tk24 lakh, and savings instruments or fixed deposits totalling Tk2.1 crore.

He reported two motor vehicles valued at Tk1.61 crore. His electronics and furniture were valued at Tk2 lakh.

He showed Tk2.2 crore as business capital recorded under loans. He declared 10 bhori of gold, though no value was stated.

Kamal reported 171 decimals (over 5 bigha) of agricultural land worth Tk1.6 crore at acquisition, and 18.5 decimals of non-agricultural land valued at Tk58.5 lakh.

He listed two homes: a village property valued at Tk80 lakh and another valued at around Tk13 lakh.

His total declared assets amounted to about Tk10.25 crore, excluding the value of gold. The ACC is also investigating him for possessing assets beyond known income, alleging he accumulated Tk16.42 crore through unlawful means.
