Police have shown former Narayanganj mayor Selina Hayat Ivy arrested in five more cases, including four murder cases filed with Fatullah Police Station and one filed with Narayanganj Sadar Police Station over obstructing police duties.

This afternoon (18 November), the Narayanganj Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate's court conducted separate hearings. The obstruction case was heard before Magistrate Selina Khatun, while Magistrate Maimuna Akhter Moni handled the proceedings for the four murder cases.

Speaking to reporters after the hearings, Ivy's lawyer Advocate Awlad Hossain said her name does not appear in the FIRs of any of the five cases in which she has now been shown arrested.

"These cases have been arranged in a new way only to delay her bail," he alleged, adding, "We will appeal against these orders at the High Court."

Earlier this year, on 9 May, law enforcement arrested Ivy at her residence.

Although the High Court on 9 November granted her bail in five cases filed against her, the bail orders were later stayed.
