EC releases final voter list: Bangladesh now has 12.77cr voters

The Election Commission (EC) has published the final voter list ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election, confirming that a total of 12.77 crore (exactly 12,76,95,183) citizens are eligible to vote.
The draft list had earlier recorded 12,76,12,384 voters.
EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed announced the updated figures while speaking to journalists at the EC headquarters in the capital's Agargaon today (18 November).
The secretary said the list includes all citizens who turned 18 by 31 October 2025, allowing many of them to vote for the first time in the upcoming national election.
"The final voter list shows that Bangladesh now has 12,76,95,183 registered voters ahead of the upcoming national election. Of them, 6,48,14,907 are male, 6,28,79,042 are female, and 1,234 are third-gender voters," he added.
According to him, the updated records indicate a 2.29% growth in male voters and a 4.16% growth in female voters.
The draft voter list published on 3 November had recorded 6,47,60,382 male voters, 6,28,50,772 female voters, and 1,230 third-gender voters.
