BUFT fair on textile management 2025 draws strong turnout
BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) hosted the "Shin Shin Group Presents National Textile Management Fair 2025" on 16 November, 2025, at its Nishatnagar campus in Turag, Dhaka.
Powered by Auko-Tex Group, co-powered by Citizens Bank, and sponsored by Dysin and Lejin International Limited, the event — organised by the BUFT Textile Engineering Management and Innovation Club (BTEMIC) — brought together more than seven hundred participants from sixty-one institutions, including twenty-four universities and thirty-seven colleges. It has become one of the country's largest platforms for emerging textile talent.
The fair highlighted innovation, research excellence and industry–academia collaboration, offering students, educators and industry leaders a forum to explore the future of Bangladesh's textile and RMG sectors.
The opening session featured remarks from BUFT leaders and industry experts, including Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Ayub Nabi Khan; Professor Md Abdul Jalil, dean of the Faculty of Sciences; Registrar Md Rafiquzzaman; Sharmin Alam Simi (Standard MH Group); Mohammad Faizur Rahman (AUST); TIM Zahid Hossain (Shin Shin Group); and Sayeed Ahmed Chowdhury (Square Textiles Division). Speakers emphasised the importance of innovation-driven education and strategic industry collaboration.
Textile Talk sessions offered practical insights on emerging trends and future opportunities, while the Brain Battle Olympiad and Innovation Hub Exhibition showcased student excellence in smart materials, sustainability-focused research, technical innovation and textile knowledge. Projects were evaluated on creativity, feasibility, impact, communication and research quality.
The closing and prize-giving ceremony was presided over by BUFT Board of Trustees Chairman and former BGMEA President Faruque Hassan. Guest of honour Professor Ayub Nabi Khan, along with special guests including BUFT Board Member Mohammed Nasir; Shin Shin Group Chairman Mohammad Sohel Sadat; EPB Vice-Chairman Mohammad Hasan Arif; SME Foundation Director Shahid Hussain Shamim; Auko-Tex Group Managing Director Engr Abdus Sobhan; Nature Craft Bangladesh Ltd Managing Director Mehedi Hasan; and BWM CEO and Founder Rafi Islam, praised BUFT for its role in nurturing the next generation of textile innovators.
Winners of the Brain Battle Olympiad and Innovation Hub competitions received prizes totalling Tk90,000.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Treasurer Professor Md Alamgir Hossain, followed by a cultural evening showcasing student creativity and talent, reaffirming BUFT's leadership in textile education, innovation and youth development.
