National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary has said that the political fate of BNP will ultimately be similar to that of Awami League.

He made the remark today at a discussion titled "July Charter: Implementation Pathline", organised by the National Lawyers Alliance (NLA) at the Supreme Court Bar Auditorium in Dhaka.

"BNP's countdown to the end has already begun -- the death bell has started ringing even louder," Patwary said.

"And BNP's ultimate fate will be the same as Awami League's. If anyone thinks they can buy us with two seats… that dream will not come true during our lifetime," he said.

He further claimed that political unrest had already started. "Blockades and arson have begun. There will be a major 'game' in this election. Let's see how far the nomination trade goes -- and how strong our blood is," he added.

Patwary also said, "People will vote for the 'shapla koli' symbol even if they wear the badge of 'dhaner shish'.
