BKSP hosts seminar on Chinese Government Scholarship
A promotional seminar on the Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS Type-A) was held on Sunday morning at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), highlighting opportunities for higher education in China and strengthening educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Organised under the supervision of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka and administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), the session marked another milestone in the long-standing collaboration between BKSP and various Chinese institutions in areas such as sports science, training and academic development.
Brigadier General Md Munirul Islam, Director General of BKSP, attended the seminar as the chief guest. He encouraged students to explore higher education in China to gain exposure to world-class academic systems and build global competence through the CGS Type-A programme.
Dr Maruf Molla, CEO of MalishaEdu and this year's official promotional partner of CGS Type-A, joined as special guest. He briefed students on scholarship benefits, eligibility, application procedures and key strategies for securing the award.
Hundreds of BKSP students took part in the interactive session, receiving guidance on language requirements, university selection and subject-specific opportunities.
The Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS Type-A), a fully funded programme under China's Ministry of Education, covers full tuition fees, free university accommodation, a monthly stipend of Tk42,000–59,000, return airfare and comprehensive medical insurance. Applicants without prior Chinese language skills are eligible, as both master's and PhD programmes are offered in English.
The seminar offered students a clear overview of the application process and encouraged them to consider higher studies abroad. Both BKSP and Chinese representatives expressed optimism about expanding future cooperation in education and research.
