The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has introduced a professional day care service for the children of officials and employees based at its headquarters, Biniyog Bhaban, as part of its broader effort to promote institutional excellence and a family-friendly working environment. The facility will be open to parents working at BIDA and other offices housed within the premises.

A formal agreement was signed today appointing Little Ducklings, an initiative of Dhaka Ahsania Mission, to manage the day care centre.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, BIDA Executive Chairman, Ashik Chowdhury, said, "Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a respected institution with a long-standing commitment to social welfare. Through Little Ducklings, we are ensuring access to professional childcare services—an initiative that will add a new dimension to our working environment. This is an important step towards creating a women-friendly and family-oriented office culture, offering a practical solution particularly for working mothers."

He added that the fee structure has been kept intentionally affordable, with subsidised rates for lower-income employees, enabling parents to work with peace of mind, knowing their children are in a safe, nurturing, and educational setting.

Initially launched in November 2024 under BIDA's internal management and supervision of its Administration Wing, the centre is now transitioning to a fully professional model under Little Ducklings. The upgraded facility will include:

Currently, ten to eleven children are enrolled at the centre, including those of officials from BIDA, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA).

To guide and standardise service delivery, BIDA has also developed its own operational framework—"BIDA Day Care Centre Guideline 2024"—outlining service design, quality standards, and management protocols.
