The three-day 8th Daffodil Captain Cup Golf Tournament 2025 concluded at the Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) on 24 October, drawing 652 golfers from across the country.

General Waker-uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, psc, Chief of Army Staff and President of Kurmitola Golf Club, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and handed prizes to the winners.

Dr Md Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Group, and Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, Commandant, National Defence College, and Vice President, KGC, also spoke on the occasion.

Senior officials, military and civilian dignitaries, and their families were present at the colourful closing ceremony.

Colonel Mohammad Nasir Uddin was crowned champion, Colonel Muhammad Shariful Islam finished runner-up, and Mrs Jin Suk Yun won in the ladies' category.

In his address, the Army chief thanked sponsors for their continued support to the sport and recognised the wider role of local enterprises in driving economic and technological growth. Dr Sabur Khan highlighted Daffodil Group's contribution to promoting technology and education in Bangladesh, urging greater preference for locally made products to strengthen national capability.

The closing programme also featured cultural and entertainment segments honouring innovators, entrepreneurs, and sports enthusiasts. Organisers said the tournament reflects the shared spirit of innovation, pride in local technology, and the pursuit of excellence linking education, entrepreneurship, and sport.
